Flight Attendant Offers to Hold Baby to Give Mom a Break
A flight attendant for Southwest Airlines had a special assistant helping her through the pre-takeoff protocol. The sweet stranger decided to scoop up a baby girl from her mother to give the tired mama a much-needed break, according to NBC News York.
Savannah Blum and her 19-month-old daughter Brittan were traveling home from visiting family. While Blum usually has no trouble getting her tiny tot to sleep during plane rides, this time around, baby wasn’t having it. Making things more complicated, the pair had to take more than one flight, which meant switching planes and getting situated all over again.
Luckily, one super-sweet flight attendant had the mom’s back. The Southwest Airlines employee, who Blum tells NBC was named Jessica, was on the first flight with the duo, and let Blum know she’d also be on the next flight with them too. Upon boarding, Jessica decided to give the mom a break, saying “come here, baby. I got her, Mama. You got to sit down.” In the video, the adorable infant is a total ham and blows kisses to fellow passengers as she and Jessica do their walkthrough before takeoff.
Stories like this are great reminders for parents that traveling with baby on a plane doesn’t have to be so scary. Another crew member helped out a mom who was in complete panic mode when she ran out of formula mid-flight. Stepping in to help a mom out, the flight attendant offered to breastfeed the hungry baby.
