This Extended Family Trying to Get the Babies to Smile for a Picture Is Super-Relatable

This isn’t necessarily your family, but it may as well could be.

We’ve all been there: Jumping up and down, making silly noises and funny faces, getting on all fours. Because, let’s be honest, there’s more of a chance of pigs flying than getting all the babies to smile in one picture.

Massachusetts resident Mary Dy posted the hilarious video of her family on Facebook, and it wasn’t long before the clip completely blew up.

“Nothing is funnier than watching a group of adults try to make babies smile during pictures,” Dy captions the video.

And we’d have to agree.

The clip shows a group of adult family members shouting, clapping, cheering and doing whatever else it takes to get their six sweet subjects to crack a smile. And can you blame them? The little babes are propped in a picture-perfect holiday setting, wearing matching red PJs and draped in twinkle lights.

Since the family’s silly shenanigans have been posted, the video has been shared more than 28,000 times and has nearly 9,000 comments—all from families who can totally relate.

The lesson? Parents will agree on one thing: Anything for a cute photo. But no matter how hard you try, sometimes baby isn’t having it. Just take these epic, yet hysterical, Santa photo fails.
