Eminem's Daughter Hailie Jade Reveals the Sex of Her First Child
Eminem’s first grandbaby is going to be a boy!
The rapper’s only child, Hailie Jade, shared the exciting news on a recent episode of her podcast Just a Little Shady. To break the big news Hailie Jade and her husband Evan McClintock popped a balloon filled with blue confetti. “It’s a boy!” they excitedly shared. “We’re so excited, too. When we found out, Evan was like, ‘They’re going to hunt with me. They’re going to go golfing with me. I’ve got a little buddy,’” the mom-to-be shared. “I was like, ‘Okay well they’re still going to Target with me.’”
Eminem first shared his daughter was expecting in his latest music video, Temporary, released on October 3. Throughout the video, nostalgic photos and clips of Eminem and his daughter Hailie flash across the screen, capturing her journey from childhood to her wedding day. In a heartwarming twist at the end, Hailie surprises her dad with a football jersey emblazoned with the word “Grandpa” and the number one on the back, along with a sonogram photo. As she hands over the items, Eminem’s expression transforms from shock to joy, his eyes filling with tears as he embraces the reality of becoming a grandfather.
The Lose Yourself rapper’s announcement was met with an outpouring of love and congratulations on Instagram. “Literally cried to this one. Congrats, Hailie, on the baby,” one fan commented. Another added, “Slim Shady is going to be a grandpa!” while a playful fan quipped, “BABY SHADY is coming.” Fans also flocked to Hailie’s own Instagram, where she and her husband, Evan McClintock, shared a cozy kitchen moment holding sonogram photos. “You can now make mom’s spaghetti!” joked one commenter.
Hailie Jade and McClintock’s love story began at Michigan State University in 2016. After six years of dating, the couple got engaged in 2023. On Hailie’s Just a Little Shady podcast, McClintock recounted the nerve-wracking moment he asked for Eminem’s blessing to propose at Hailie’s 2022 birthday party. "I saw your dad go downstairs, and I’m like, ‘I gotta do it right now, or I’m not doing it today, and I’m gonna have to schedule another time,’ " he remembered. “So I just followed him downstairs, and, thankfully, he was just down there getting your cake and made it happen.”
The couple tied the knot in May 2024. “We couldn’t have asked for a better, more beautiful weekend celebration,” she shared on Instagram. "So so many happy tears were shed, laughs & smiles were had, & so much love was felt. Evan and I are feeling so grateful for all of the family & friends that traveled to support us and be a part of this new chapter of our lives as husband & wife.
