Easter Eggsters Are Basically the Spring Version of Elf on the Shelf
When we mention the phrase “Elf on the Shelf,” there’s a good chance you feel one of two things: a sense of dread and panic at the mere thought of having to creatively hide the elf 25 different times, or gratitude towards the ever-present toy for prompting your kids to be on their best behavior. Well, a new toy may just have worked out the kinks in the system. And it’s taking the form of an Easter egg.
Easter Eggsters, created by mom Destiny Schuenke, include four critters each contained within a bright Easter egg. Just like Elf On The Shelf, the critters are said to report to the big guy in charge—only in this case, it’s the Easter Bunny, not Santa.
Here’s a letter from the Easter Bunny himself, as posted on the Easter Eggsters website:
“These are very special friends of mine ready to have lots of fun with you. They also have a very important job to do. With your good behaviour and their positive reports I will bring you a basket full of goodies on easter morning! Take good care of my friends and I will be hopping to your home soon!”
That’s right: Tricking your kids into good behavior can now happen twice a year.
Each Eggster comes with a book explaining their origin story to stir kids’ imaginations. What they don’t come with? A set of rules as strict as Elf On The Shelf. Your kids are allowed to touch and play with them. You don’t have to move them each night if you don’t want to. And you can introduce them to your kids whenever you want; while Schuenke started on Valentine’s Day(!), a week ahead of Easter is just fine.
