Derek Jeter and His Wife Hannah Welcome Their First Baby Boy
The New York Yankees’ littlest fan has arrived!
Former Yankees baseball legend and new Fox MLB host Derek Jeter and his wife Hannah welcomed their first son on May 5. In an Instagram post announcing his arrival, the couple shared their little one’s birth date and name, Kaius Green Jeter. Kaius is a name of Latin origin that typically means “Rejoice.”
Just as quickly as Jeter changed his Instagram bio to “sleep-deprived father of four,” Yankees fans also shared their congratulations and hopes for the future in the comments. “2041 Yankee,” wrote one user, “Future Yankee Hall of Famer,” another added. The Yankees baseball account sent over their congratulations as well.
The Major League Baseball Hall of Famer is already the proud dad to three girls, River Rose, 17 months, Story Grey, 4, and Bella Raine, 5. During a recent appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Jeter described life as a father of three as ”controlled chaos.” “It’s school pick-ups, drop-offs, they do my nails, my toenails, makeup, lipstick. It’s the greatest thing I’ve ever experienced though, my girls, they are the absolute best," he said.
When it comes to the skills and spirit of his little future athletes, Jeter seemed optimistic about being a sports dad. Describing a recent sports adventure with his oldest, Bella, Jeter asked why his daughter didn’t want to compete in an upcoming tennis match. Her response—‘Dad I already know how to play.’ “So she’s not lacking confidence when it comes to sports,” Jeter joked.
Our congrats to the happy family of six!
