Olympic Figure Skating Couple Chris and Alexa Knierim Are Expecting
After years spent on the ice together, Olympic figure skating couple, Chris and Alexa Knierim are teaming up for their best collaboration yet.
The 2018 Olympic medalists announced on March 10 that they are expecting their first child. “Our baby boy is 23 weeks along! We are eagerly anticipating the joyful moments that await us,” Alexa shared alongside a beachside photo of Chris cradling her baby bump, adding #babyboy and #ivfbaby.
Fans and fellow figure skating stars flooded the comments with love and congratulations. “So so excited for you both,” wrote two-time Canadian Olympic medalist Piper Gilles. “Ah, so exciting, congratulations!” added 2018 Olympic teammate Maia Shibutani. Icons like Tara Lipinski and Madison Chock also shared their well wishes.
Chris and Alexa first became skating partners in 2012, forming a connection that extended beyond the rink. Their undeniable chemistry led to multiple national titles, an Olympic medal, and, ultimately, a love story that saw them marry in 2016.
