In this economy, parents are all for finding creative ways to stretch the value of their pregnancy and parenting products. Belly bands become back support after birth. Pacifier clips transform into keychain holders. And the latest everyday item doing double duty? Nipple cream.

In a new interview, White Lotus star Carrie Coon shares her favorite beauty hack—and it’s not the pricey skincare you might expect. “I never leave the house without Lansinoh Nipple Cream—for my lips,” she told Town & Country. “You guys, let’s just talk straight here, it’s the same tissue. Nipples and lips are basically the same tissue. So it stands to reason that the nipple cream is gonna work very well on your lips.”

Coon goes on to praise the lanolin-based balm over standard lip products, adding that you “don’t have to put it on as often” and that it’s perfectly safe because “you know, it’s for babies, you could eat it.” The Gilded Age actress also noted that if she forgets her go-to chapstick—usually nipple cream—she’ll turn around and go back. “I converted a lot of people to nipple cream for their lips, and it comes in a big tube.”

And it turns out Carrie isn’t alone. Moms, nurses, and beauty lovers alike flooded the comments with praise for the unexpected beauty hack. “Lanolin is the best lip balm ever. Seriously she’s not wrong,” wrote one commenter. “ICU nurse here. We always use lanolin as chapstick for our patients! Best ever,” added a nurse. Another parent chimed in, “My kids are 29 & 23. I have tubes of Lansinoh everywhere.” And one fan may have put it best: “Lipple Cream. Period.”

Of course, not every product is a perfect fit for everyone—one commenter pointed out that some people may have lanolin allergies and should patch test or consult a dermatologist before trying the trick for themselves.

Coon’s one word of warning for anyone giving the hack a try? “Just don’t drop it, because people pick it up for you and then they’re embarrassed. It’s very uncomfortable,” she laughed. You can grab your own travel tube of Lansinoh Lanolin Nipple Cream at Target.com.
