App That Allows Virtual Playdates Is Now Free Amidst COVID-19 Outbreak

Caribu is a family-friendly video-calling app that makes it easier to help parents and grandparents connect with their kids. Now, amidst the COVID-19 outbreak, the company is offering it for free, with unlimited access, to help bridge the gap created by social distancing and self-isolation.

The lauded app not only allows children to connect with friends and families, but it also makes virtual playdates accessible. Kids can read books from an extensive library of popular titles, play games, engage in education activities and even color together over a video call in the Caribu app. Plus, it offers books in eight languages and is used by users in over 160 countries.

COVID-19 has undoubtedly disrupted life as we know it, with hundreds and thousands of kids across the globe out of school. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is recommending limiting contact with others as a precaution. As a result, it’s likely that during this time kids may miss friends and extended family members they may not be able to see as frequently.
