WNBA's Candace Parker and Anna Petrakova Welcome Baby Boy
Three’s company, but five is a basketball team!
Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) star and Las Vegas Aces power forward Candace Parker recently welcomed her third child with wife Anna Petrakova. The two shared the happy news on June 10. “Hartt Summitt Petrakov Parker May 21, 2024,” the couple captioned family photos featuring their new addition. “Our Starting lineup is complete. We are so in love and grateful for our little brother. Zone defense is ummm interesting, but we are managing. Goose is ummm adjusting but he’s doing better with his role as a vet (Mama is a rockstar and we love her soooo much).”
Fellow athletes, celebrities and friends sent their love and congratulations in the comments. "Love you guys,” wrote track and field Olympian Alyson Felix. “Congrats!” added Gabrielle Union and John Legend. Several in the comments also speculated that Hartt’s middle name was chosen in honor of late basketball coach Pat Summit. “Hartt SUMMITT. I’m not crying, you are. So beautiful,“ wrote one fan. “Pat is smiling,” added broadcast host Ro Parrish.
Hartt joins the couple’s son Airr Larry, 2 and Parker’s older daughter Lailaa, 14, who she welcomed in a previous relationship. Parker and her wife first shared their exciting baby news in December, with Petrakova’s baby bump on display. “Mama and Mommy are switching from man-2-man to zone defense this spring! After four years in the game we are focused on building our roster. We know this rookie will add to our depth chart and contribute versatility to our team,” the couple captioned a photo of their family on a basketball court.
Parker and Petrakova first met while Candace was playing overseas during the WNBA offseason in 2012. They both played on UMMC Ekaterinburg in Anna’s home country of Russia. The two were friends for three years before becoming a couple and tying the knot in December 2019.
Our best to the new Parker-Petrakova team!
