Candace Cameron Bure Is Releasing Her Third Children’s Book in 2021
Candace Cameron Bure is releasing her third children’s book, Candance’s Playful Puppy on January 26, 2021.
The Fuller House star, who has also written Candace Center Stage and Grow Candace Grow, announced the news this week as part of Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, with the goal of raising awareness for all the animals waiting for a home.
The book follows young Candace as sets out to become a dog mom and visits an animal shelter. While she hopes to get a cuddly puppy, she finds herself with a boisterous puppy who’s not great at following instructions.
Cameron’s goal with each of her kids’ books is to teach a lesson. “This theme is all about faithfulness,” she told TODAY Parents. “I just thought for this book, ‘What was a good way to show being faithful to a commitment?’ And I thought, ‘Ah, she’s going to get a puppy!’”
While Cameron owns a 6-year-old Rottweiler named Boris and frequently shows him off on her social media, he isn’t included in the book. “Boris could look like a big, mean, scary dog so we didn’t want to put a dog like Boris in the book,” she jokingly said.
While Cameron’s own children have grown up, she loves to write kids’ books and hopes her grandchildren will one day be able to enjoy them, too. “My son is getting married. I don’t know when they’ll have children, but I really look at these books now as books for my grandchildren,” she told the outlet. “This is something I’m so happy to gift to them and I have a feeling one of my next books will be with a grandma in there.”
Candace’s Playful Puppy, is set to release on January 26 and currently available for preorder on Amazon.com.
