Bubba Wallace is shifting gears and racing into parenthood full throttle!
The NASCAR driver and his wife, Amanda Carter Wallace, announced they are expecting on April 17. “Spring has sprung. Summer will be rad. Fall is the first time. We’ll be mom and dad! Baby Wallace coming October 2024,” Carter captioned the black-and-white photo of the couple sitting in their car, looking into the rearview mirror as their sonogram photo hung below. In the other pictures in the carousel post, Wallace and Carter celebrate the big news with their sonogram photo and their dog Asher.
In the comments, friends, family and teammates left their congratulations and well wishes for the couple. “Lessssssgo,” wrote Indy Car driver Scott McLaughlin. “Congrats guys!!! What a blessing,” chimed in NASCAR driver Derrell Edwards. “Ahhhhh love this announcement!!! So excited for you both. You will be amazing parents,” added NASCAR star Denny Hamlin’s fianceé Jordan Fish.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, Wallace played out a humorous conversation between himself and Carter concerning baby’s due date. “Wife: ‘It would be the worst to have a baby on your birthday/birthday week,’” he wrote. “Me: ‘well damn…okay’ Coming…my birthday week,” he joked.
Wallace and Carter crossed paths in high school but didn’t end up dating until after they graduated. “It’s special,” Carter told People. “We still reminisce or talk about things from the past. We just know so much about each other’s lives from so long ago.” The Wallaces officially tied the knot on New Year’s Eve 2022 after getting engaged the year before.
Congratulations to the Wallaces on their growing family!
