Bluey Meal Kits Debut Alongside Trailer for Special 28-Minute Episode
Beloved Australian children’s show, Bluey, is set to debut its longest—and last, for a while at least—episode on April 14. In celebration of the special hour-long episode, home meal prep company Home Chef has debuted limited-edition Bluey meals on its Family Menu.
Parents can now order Bluey-themed recipes that will change weekly throughout the month. From Bandit and Chilli’s Chicken Soup with carrots and potatoes to Bingo’s “Not Too Spicy” Takeaway Salmon with orange glaze, sesame green beans, and rice, each easy-to-make meal will arrive in a special interactive box with a different collectible toy.
“Partnering with Bluey is a celebration of the happiness and quality time that defines both Bluey and Home Chef,” Home Chef’s brand director Raquel Brown said in a press release. “Through this partnership, we aim to turn every meal into a moment of shared delight and make family mealtime truly special.”
Disney+ debuted a short teaser trailer for “The Sign” episode on March 25. The episode will see the Heeler family getting ready for the ‘wedding event of the year’ and producers say fans can expect “lots of laughs, exciting guest voices, and definitely a few tears.”
The writers and producers behind Bluey first announced they would be taking a pause before tackling season four in 2023. “We are just going to get our heads on a bit, it’s been four or five years and we’ve made 154 episodes, it is kind of unprecedented to do that back-to-back,” producer Daley Pearson explained in an interview with The Courier Mail.
“It was very intense…we are just coming to the end of season three and trying to think about what’s the best way to make it better. We have all secretly agreed with each other that we wouldn’t keep making Bluey if it wasn’t as good as the one that came before, so we want to make sure we keep doing that,” he added.
Families around the world may be saddened to hear they’ll have to wait a little longer until they can spend more time with their favorite Heeler clan, but producers did at least dispel the gossip around the end of the series. “Part of it is just not pushing to come back. We are resting; the more we ask ourselves [when work will begin on season four], the longer it will be, which is why I hesitate talking about it too much,” Pearson said.
