Blake Lively’s Top Song of the Year Is a Parenting Rite of Passage
It’s the big day—when Spotify drops its highly anticipated Wrapped campaign. This morning, you likely woke up to countless friends sharing their top songs of the year. While many use it as a chance to flaunt their flawless taste in music, parents with little ones know this hope is often dashed by hours spent playing kiddie favorites The Wheels on the Bus on repeat.
The good news? You’re far from alone. Even celebrities like It Ends With Us star Blake Lively aren’t immune. In a recent interview with the Hollywood Reporter, Lively admitted her top song of the year wasn’t a fun track from Sabrina Carpenter or a classic Taylor Swift hit, but, inevitably, Baby Shark. “Baby Shark, Dance Remix. I have a one-year-old. It’s heaven—and also musical hell," she joked.
Known for her quick wit and sense of humor, Lively also recently opened up to about the quirky homemade cakes she creates for her children’s birthdays. “My birthday cakes always have a little bit of a sense of humor. For my baby, I just did a giant set of boobs, which I feel will haunt him for life. But what do they want at 1? He can’t declare what he wants. So, boobs,” Lively told BBC Radio 2’s Zoe Ball. “Because that’s what he wants at one,” Ball added with a laugh.
The Hollywood golden couple is typically tight-lipped about their family life and chose not to publicly announce the arrival of their fourth child, Olin. Instead, Lively surprised fans and friends on Super Bowl Sunday in 2023, sharing a photo of herself without her baby bump after months of being spotted with one. “Puppy Bowl Sunday 2023, been busy,” she captioned the post.
In July 2024, Ryan Reynolds finally revealed their son’s name, Olin, a name of Nordic origin, that traditionally means "ancestor’s heir” or “to inherit.”
Along with baby Olin, Lively her husband Ryan Reynolds share James (9), Inez (8), and Betty (4).
