Matt Damon Hilariously Sums Up What Christmas Day Is Like as a Parent
Matt Damon teamed up with Cecily Strong for a recent Saturday Night Live holiday skit, where the pair hit the nail on the head when it comes to Christmas as parents. Cozying up on the couch at the end of the night, the two talk about how this holiday was the “Best Christmas Ever.”
To give you an overview of the day, it began in the wee hours of the morning with their excited kids yanking them out of bed to open presents. And that would all be well if Damon wasn’t up until who knows when assembling that god awful playhouse. Sounds familiar, right?
Then the in-laws arrive and waste no time coming in hot with the subtle jabs. And though you and your partner drafted a list of talking points in an attempt to avoid any mention of politics, it of course all goes to hell before the sweet potatoes are even passed. Cue you chugging wine like it’s your job.
But at the end of the day, when the house has cleared and the kids are fast asleep, you and your partner will undoubtedly look back at the day and smile. Because, as the skit so perfectly sums up, “even when it’s the worst, it’s the best.”
