Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield and passionate philanthropist Emily Mayfield, announced the arrival of their first child on April 13. Named Kova Jade Mayfield, Emily posted on her Instagram stories on April 13 to share that “baby girl joined us Tuesday night just before 7:30pm. She is truly everything we prayed for, and more.”
“We’re enjoying life as a family of 4 - Fergus is so gentle & curious,” Emily continued, mentioning their pet dog. “Daddy is so smitten, and Mama wants to pause time forever & make these days last forever.”
Since then Emily has shared plenty of snaps to her stories featuring her husband caring for Kova. In a photo shared on April 15, Baker is pictured chatting with teammate and new dad Tristan Wirfs as both men cradle their newborns.
The Mayfields first shared the news they were expecting on December 4. We’ve been hiding a little something…,” the Mayfields captioned the carousel of maternity photos. “But we are THRILLED to share that baby girl Mayfield will be joining our crazy crew in early April 2024,” the couple added.
In the adorable maternity shoot, the couple embraces beachside while wearing warm fall colors. Emily sports a forest green maxi dress while Baker dons a neutral beige jacket, black tee and black pants. In each of the photos, the couple’s beloved pup, Fergus, wears a black bandana advertising his soon-to-be role as big brother.
Friends, fans, teammates and celebrities shared their well wishes for the couple in the comments. “Ayyyeee!! Congrats you guys,” wrote Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. “Yayyyy!!! 😍 Congrats guys!!!” added Brittany Mahomes. The Buccanneers and pro golfer Brooks Koepka added their congratulations.
The couple tied the knot in July 2019, with Emily looking back at their relationship in an anniversary post on Instagram this summer. “Happy 4 year anniversary to my sweet husband. These last few years we have grown in so many ways, and I am SO proud of where we are in our marriage,” she wrote. “What a fun way to ring in #4! And thanks @terranearesort for the getaway we so badly needed! 💙 I love you @bakermayfield”
