Scary Baby Monitor Image Is Going Viral and the Comments Are Hilarious
Video baby monitors are a great source of comfort for many parents, as they can see exactly what’s happening in baby’s room while they sleep. But, sometimes those monitors pick up some strange and unexpected things, as one mom recently found out when she went to check in on her son.
Elise Bannister caught her son, Finn, looking absolutely demonic and possessed on her new VTech baby monitor one night. In the image Finn is lying in his crib with his eyes are wide open and glowing with blue light.
Rather than being frightened, she thought it was hilarious. “When I first started it up and saw that Finn was just silently staring at the camera like something from a low-budget horror movie I absolutely lost it laughing,” Bannister told TODAY in an interview. “It was hilariously creepy. I initially took the picture to share with a group chat of friends. I had no idea it would go this far!”
The now-gone-viral image has over 411,000 likes and 84,000 retweets, and many parents are commenting with their own experiences. “I had a similar treat one night,” one dad wrote, sharing a picture of his child standing in the crib and wrapped in a blanket.
Another parent wrote, “Yeah, it’s a common thing on these cameras apparently. My daughter was laying upside down, which made it even more creepy.”
A similar image actually went viral just last month when one mom thought she saw a ghost in baby’s crib. After a sleepless night, she found out her husband had simply forgotten to put the mattress protector on after changing the sheets and that the “ghost” was just an image of a baby on the mattress label.
Surprised at all the attention she got, Bannister decided to make fun of her tweet, posting another terrifying, yet hilarious image of Finn. “This has blown up a bit, so I thought I’d post a normal photo of my baby so y’all can see how cute he is,” the mom wrote.
