The Adorable Baby Dance Class Parents Can't Get Enough of

“The class is a way to feel connected and know that caring for oneself and caring for a newborn doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive.”

There are three things parents are in sore need of during those first few months with baby—movement, a laugh and community. Flux Flow Dance Center recently went viral for offering up all three in one adorable dance class.

Baby Dance Club is a 30-minute dance class for caregivers and their 0-6 months old babies. Simply strap baby into a carrier or get in your arm workout by carrying them through this lively step-and-sway class that has been coined as part baby hypnotism, part Zumba.

“Spending a lot of time at home without the company of adults can feel isolating and there are very few offerings for caregivers of very little ones around town,”Flux Flow Dance wrote. “This class is designed to create community and joy for adult participants while providing tools to connect with babies through dance.”

While this boogie session is crafted with parents and baby in mind, you won’t catch any CoColemon or Baby Shark playing in the background. Instead, vibrant, upbeat tunes play as Russel, the instructor, encourages parents to let go, relax and take a moment for themselves.

Although the class itself only lasts 30 minutes, the studio is reserved for one hour to allow parents to mix and mingle. “The class is a way to feel connected and know that caring for oneself and caring for a newborn doesn’t have to be mutually exclusive,” said Flux Flow Dance Center.

A perfect fit for 0-6 month-olds in need of just a little stimulation, Flux Flow Dance notes that once baby is much older than 7 or 8 months, the class is unlikely to be stimulating enough for their advanced needs. The Columbus, Ohio-based studio holds Baby Dance Club classes Mondays at Noon and Saturdays at 3pm. For those who can’t make it to the studio, Flux Flow Dance Center live-streams each session across the world.
