Ashley Graham Shares Empowering Posts of Her Changing Pregnant Body
Ashley Graham loves her expanding pregnancy body, and she’s not afraid who knows it! It’s not always easy for moms-to-be to embrace stretch marks, new curves and other transformations that pregnancy can bring, but the model has been posting loud and proud on social media about the changes her body is undergoing and encouraging others to do the same—an empowering message she reiterated in her Instagram Stories this past weekend.
On Saturday night, Graham posted in a selfie in which she can be seen laying in bed, unclothed but covering her chest, and showing off her pregnant figure.
The image came just a week after Graham posted an Instagram video in which she shows off her bump—as well as the stretch marks that have come with it. In the caption, she wrote, “Getting bigger and bigger and trying to embrace my new body everyday. It’s a journey and I’m so thankful to have such a supportive community.”
The post was met with plenty of praise from followers, as one woman commented, “Goddess! You are such an inspiration. We love you,” while another wrote, “Absolutely. Pregnancy and postpartum body changes are so crazy. Embrace. The. Magic.”
Graham has been an advocate for body positivity for years, so it came as no surprise when she posted a selfie showing off her unfiltered side body earlier this year as well, just days after announcing her pregnancy. The selfie highlighted the model’s curves and stretch marks. Graham captioned the post, “same same but a little different.”
“I love how real you are. Equally beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside. We need more of you,” one commenter gushed. “Thanks for teaching all the women out there love yourself just the way you are … if you are healthy there is no certain rule to be skinny or size 0,” another person posted.
Along with body positivity, Graham has championed the importance of self care. “Two days of me time. Nothing better. Take care of yourself, and don’t apologize for it,” she wrote in an Instagram story posted yesterday.
In all of her posts and stories, Graham gives a much-needed dose of reality, helping mamas-to-be feel proud of their powerful bodies. After all, growing a human baby is an incredible feat, so love yourself and embrace those tiger stripes.
