The Breakfast Club's Anthony Michael Hall Welcomes His First Child

Eighties movie icon Anthony Michael Hall is officially a dad.

The Breakfast Club actor and his wife, Lucia Hall, announced the arrival of their son on July 12. “June 1st 2023. 9 lbs, 7 oz and 22. My heart exploded with the most incredible feelings of love, happiness and gratitude,” the actress and model captioned her family of three’s first photo.

“The last month and half was the busiest and most joyful time of our lives. Michael Anthony Hall II, you are mommy and daddy’s whole world and we love you unconditionally,” she added. Named after his Dad, Michael Anthony Hall II is the couple’s first child together.

“I knew I did want to name him Michael and my wife also loved that name, even before she met me. So we’ve shared that, and then we decided to go with the suffix so he’s Michael Anthony Hall II because there are a lot of juniors in the world. There’s nothing wrong with that, but we figured we wanted to keep that full name,” the Sixteen Candles star told People.

The 55-year-old first time added that his first few weeks of parenting were great, albeit a little crazy. “That first month of parenting is pretty wild. Everything that everybody tells you is pretty true: you lose sleep and it’s the craziest time, but it’s the best time. So we’re really enjoying it," he said.

The long-awaited new parents are soaking up all the amazing parts of early parenthood, “taking strolls on the beach, holding him and feeding him,” Hall noted.

“I couldn’t be happier because I always knew, even when I was a young man, that I wanted to get started later. Here I am at 55, and I’m fully committed,” Hall remarked. “I’m excited. My wife and I are really into parenting and diving in.”
