Amy Schumer Couldn’t Be Any More Unphased by Her Many Mom Shamers
Amy Schumer has only been a mom for a hot second, but she’s already had to turn the other cheek when faced with harsh criticism from mom shamers. About two weeks after giving birth to her son, Schumer made her return to the standup scene. No sooner than she shared a picture from her night on Instagram, the mom was bombarded with criticism from others who say she should have waited longer before returning to work.
In true Schumer style, the comedian took to social media to reply to the keyboard warriors who left hateful messages on her account. “Sending out love to the moms shaming me for doing standup last night,” she writes posting a picture of herself pumping breast milk on her bed.
Unlike her previous post, this time the 37-year-old was met with support and praise for rising above the negativity. It’s no one one’s business why or when the mom decided to return to work. Two weeks seems pretty soon, but as long as Schumer is pacing herself, getting rest and doing what makes her happy, that’s all that matters. For all we know, the new mom may have missed performing in front of a crowd. During her difficult pregnancy, she had to make the tough decision to cancel her tour. Everyone’s postpartum period is different, and what works for one woman may not work for another. All that matters is we support each other through it all.
