What you choose to do with your time is your business. So when Austin McBroom, dad from the popular YouTube channel The Ace Family, posted a video from inside a sex shop, it wasn’t the location that caused criticism, but rather who was with him.

A video originally posted on McBroom’s Snapchat shows him inside a sex shop with a young girl. Adding insult to injury, the clip concludes with the 26-year-old buying a penis-shaped lollipop for the kid.

Outraged by the video, many quickly recorded it and shared it to Twitter, accusing the dad of sexualizing the little girl.

As of now, the identity of the child is unknown. While McBroom is a father of two, both are younger than the girl shown in the video. Some believe the child in the video is related to McBroom’s wife, Catherine, Newsweek reports.

“Keep that in a bag forever. Do not show that to anybody. That’s your little secret,” McBroom says after he buys the lollipop and posts the video for all of his followers to see.

“Guys I’m in so much trouble,” the dad jokes in one clip. “She says she’s going to steal it if I don’t buy it, so better me buy it.”

While the clip has faced lots of backlash, the family has yet to comment on the incident.

We live in an ever-dependent digital world, and it often seems impossible to separate your family life from your social media account. With that said, there are a lot of child predators out there, so it’s important to promote online privacy for your kids. By implementing a few simple practices, your little one will be all the more safe.
