If Sarah Stage hadn’t been documenting her pregnancy on Instagram all along, you might not even believe the model is pregnant.
The 30-year-old LA mom-to-be is eight-and-a-half months along, and is drawing criticism for her barely there bump.
Assuming her caption is accurate, there’s a five-pound baby in there! How does that stack up to a standard pregnancy? At 38 weeks, a baby usually weighs about six to nine pounds, so it’s not that far off the spectrum. Based on other Instagram photos, it seems a strict exercise regimen is helping Stage maintain her figure. But the 7,000+ comments aren’t all applauding her toned physique.
“What is she pregnant with a doll?” one user commented. “I legit look like this right now after eating a bowl of soup,” another said, adding, “She needs to feed that baby instead of worrying how to keep her figure.”
We all know an Instagram’s worth a thousand words, and Stage fired back at her critics with this post:
Oh, and this:
Before you criticize, keep in mind women do carry babies differently. While the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists does recommend a weight gain of 25 to 35 pounds throughout pregnancy, that range isn’t set in stone.
