Sesame Street Wants to Help You Navigate the Unprecedented Holiday Season
Throughout 2020, Sesame Street has hosted several town halls to help kids understand the pandemic, racism and more. Now, on Saturday, December 19 at 10 am EST, Sesame Street and CNN are joining together for their fifth town hall. This one will help families navigate and prepare for a very different holiday season.
The hour-long special, The ABCs of COVID-19, will be hosted by CNN’s Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Anchor Erica Hill, as well as Big Bird and other Sesame Street friends. They’ll be answering questions from kids across the country on how to stay healthy throughout the winter, celebrating holidays with loved from a safe distance and how to continue coping with these new and big feelings.
The special is part of Sesame Workshop’s Caring for Each Other initiative, powered by the Critical Needs Response Fund, which you can learn more about and support here. The special will be able on CNN.com, CNNgo, CNN apps and other CNN platforms.
In recent weeks, Sesame Street has also released other resources to help families cope, including a video chat of Grover and his family making soup together virtually, a video of Elmo grappling with his feelings and a video of Elmo and his dad working through his fear of getting sick.
