Willfryd

Willfryd is a variant of Wilfred, a boy’s name of Old English and German origin, meaning “Determined peacemaker; Desire for peace, desire for friendship.” The most notable historical Wilfred was the British Saint Wilfrid. He was a 7th-century bishop from the kingdom of Northumbria in present-day England and Scotland who traveled across Europe. Later in life, he became the leader of a monastery in the English town of Ripon.
