Talys
t(a)-lys,
tal-ys
Origin:British
Other Origin(s):Greek
Meaning:Wise; To blossom
Short, sweet, but sharp as a needle, Talys is a boy’s name of English origin, meaning “wise.” Taken from the Old English name Tallis, which is said to flow from the Greek name Thales, meaning “to blossom,” Talys takes its place among many “T" names made for bigger things. Talys may also have ties to the Ancient Greek mathematician Thales of Miletus, who was said to be one of the Seven Sages. Thales of Miletus might be the Father of Science, but maybe a name like Talys was meant to make moves of its own.
