Shonta

Even the stoniest hearts will melt when they hear baby Shonta giggle, speak, or sing. A feminine title, Shonta is believed to be an American variant of Chanté or Chantel, though Shonta ends in an -a instead of an -e. Both Chanté and Chantel have French origins, so perhaps little Shonta’s first songs and words will be in an entirely different language! Deriving from the word chant, Chanté means “sung,” and Shonta shares this interpretation. As your little one navigates the world, they may encounter some rocky paths.
