Shelia is a girl's name of Irish origin enveloped in Roman mythos. Also spelled as Sheila and inspired by the Old Irish Síle, Shelia is considered a variation of Cecilia, linking it to the Roman family name Caecilius. Meaning "blind" or “one-eyed,” the title serves as an homage to the mythical figure Caeculus—a son of the fire god Vulcan. Born from one of Vulcan's sparks, the youth was said to hold great mastery over fire and was considered a god of the hearth, though some say the smoke inevitably damaged his eyes. Others suggest Caeculus was given his name because he had small eyes at birth. While Caeculus may have been blinded by his passion, little Shelia has the insight to enjoy a more peaceful existence to set their heart aglow.
