Shaniqua

Shaniqua is an American respelling of Welsh, Hebrew, and African origin. It takes inspiration from Sian, a popular name for baby girls that means "God is gracious" or Yahweh is merciful." Until the '80s, Shaniqua was virtually unheard of but quickly dominated the top 1,000 charts in the early '90s. Its creative 'qua' spelling adds something extra, instilling baby with a bold, fearless, and totally feisty personality.
