Romola is a girl's name of Latin origin, meaning "Roman" or "from Rome, Italy." It's the feminine form of Romulus, who was one of the famous founders of Rome along with Remus. These twin brothers were raised by a she-wolf after being abandoned as babies on the banks of the river Tiber. They both wanted to found a new city, but disagreed on where to build it.
