Remus

Remus is a masculine name whose Latin origins reveal admirable determination. As the ill-fated brother in the Romulus and Remus myth, the name is easily remembered to mean “twin.” The twin brother of Rome's founder, slain by virtue of his headstrong nature, Remus may not command the same inspiring presence. However, he too was born of the mighty Roman god Mars—long associated with military power and guardianship—and raised by a she-wolf. While Remus did meet a tragic end, he led with conviction and assurance, no matter the cost. Such sentiments are only affirmed in Remus's direct translation as "rower." After all, what better tool to resist the tides?
