Let baby's reign begin by crowning them with the dazzling Regena. This girl's moniker is a variant of the Latin and Italian Regina, meaning "queen," derived from reginalis. The name also has connections to other linguistic roots, such as the Sanskrit r_ajni_, the Irish rí, and the Welsh rhyain. Interestingly, Regina is also the capital of Saskatchewan, named in 1882 by Canada's then-governor general in honor of Queen Victoria. In a more modern context, Regena may bring to mind Regina George, the iconic antagonist and almost-crowned homecoming queen from Mean Girls, which certainly alludes to Regena's regal image.
