Ragnar

Ragnar is a Scandinavian name with Old Norse and Germanic roots, meaning “wisdom of the army.” This fierce name is shared with the protagonist of the TV show Vikings, Ragnar Lothbrok, inspired by a legendary Viking king of the ninth century. Ragnar is similarly spelled to the last battle of the world in Norse mythology—Ragnarok, interpreted as “judgment of the gods.” Ragnar itself is made up of the elements raginą, meaning “counsel” or “advice,” and harjaz, meaning "army leader" or “commander.”
