Panther
pan-thur
Origin:Greek
Meaning:Panther; All beasts
Run for cover ‘cause your little Panther is about to pounce! This fierce, feline boy’s name comes from the Greek word pánthēr, and as you may have already guessed, refers to the cunning creature that creeps through jungle forests in search of prey. Panthers are pretty well-known in ancient myth, too, and according to a few famous Greek mosaics, they might’ve been a favorite of the Greek god Dionysus. Surprisingly, some translations of the name Panther also suggest that it refers to “all beasts.” So if you’ve got a real pet person on your hands, Panther might just pull through.
