Oberron

Oberron is the English counterpart of Auberon, a German name for boys. While it means “noble or royal bear,” its derivative Alberich means “elf ruler.” In Germanic mythology, Alberich was the name of a dwarf who was appointed guardian of a treasure. The name Oberon then first appeared in a 13th-century French poem to refer to an elven hero.
