Meris has arrived to be your accomplice in helping locate Nemo and tolerate Dory, swim with Flounder and Ariel, and hopefully avoid Jaws. Meaning "of the sea," maritime Meris is a name of Latin origin, mare, and closely related to Maris. As the comically overbearing but never-seen partner of Niles Crane on Frasier, Maris Crane is a name familiar to sitcom fans around the globe. Maris ended her run on Frasier stranded on a private island, only wishing baby Meris and friends were around to rescue her.
