Maurine

Maurine is a girl's name deriving from the Latin and Hebrew name Mary, meaning "wished-for child," "beloved," "rebellious," and "bitterness," just to name a few. Maurine may be a variant spelling of the Irish name Maureen, traditionally spelled Máirín, which means "little Mary." This elegant spelling has a French feel to it, and is almost identical to the name of a pretty French village called Maurines.
