Mariann

Mariann is an alternate spelling of the French feminine name Marianne. Imbued with a rich legacy of attributes, Mariann first began its journey as the Hebrew Maryām, meaning "star of the sea." Throughout antiquity, the name was etymologized various times, transcribed as meaning "bitter" or "rebellious"—from the Hebrew root mr—and even "exalted one."
