Luned

Luned is a feminine name of Welsh origin and a variant of the famous Eluned, meaning "idol," "image," and "shape." Eluned was a romantic and mysterious Welsh martyr who lived in what is now modern Breconshire between the fifth and sixth centuries. She was the handmaiden of the Lady of the Fountain in Welsh Arthurian romance, possessing a magic ring that turned the wearer invisible. The Welsh expression eilun, meaning likeness, means baby Luned can be born in their mystical idol's image.
