Lothario

Lothario is an alluring masculine name so often synonymous with a charming Casanova. But before Don Quixote altered Lothario's reputation, the name was no more than a variation of the German Luther, which means "soldier of the people." It's a jarring contrast to Lothario's presumed seductive nature—affirmed once again by the 18th-century play The Fair Penitent. Perhaps there is room for baby to bring new meaning to Lothario, by serving their community in far more praiseworthy ways.
