Leonato

Leonato is a boy's name of British origin. This rare and vintage-style choice stems from Shakespeare's comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. Most of the play's scenes take place at the home of Leonato, the Duke of Messina and the father of Hero. Although a little harsh at times, he's seen as a protective and caring figure to not only his daughter but also his niece, Beatrice. This name may also be rooted in the Greek name Leon, meaning "lion."
