Larentia

Larentia is a classic Latin name you don’t hear very often. This feminine title stems from two roots, the first thought to be lares. This word refers to the household gods of the Romans and possibly means “ghost” or “specter.” Larentia may also be a form of Laurentia, meaning “from Laurentum” or “laurel wreath or crown.” The mythical figure Acca Larentia appears in several Roman legends with differing identities. From the foster mother of Romulus and Remus to a benefactor of Rome and even a goddess of fertility linked to the household lares, Larentia is enriched with lore.
