Junius

Junius is a decorated boy’s name. For starters, its usage can be traced all the way back to a family in ancient Rome. The gens Junia was one of the most celebrated families at the time, and several of its members have altered the course of history, as is the story of Marcus Brutus, who gained infamy for leading the conspiracy against Emperor Caesar. Scholars argue that the gens Junia takes after iunius or June, the fourth month in the Roman calendar. This, in turn, has been equated with “youth” because it comes after May or mairoes which means “elder.” More recently, the name has been famously associated with Junius Bird, the supposed real-life inspiration for the swashbuckling cinematic hero, Indiana Jones. So whether or not baby made their debut in the month of June, this is one of the best ways, timeless as it is, to inspire them to seek out adventures!
