Joesette

Joesette is a girl’s name with French and Hebrew roots. The name is a variant spelling of Josette, which derives from the French name Josephine. Josephine stems from the Hebrew name Joseph, which means “he will add” and “God will increase.” Josephine Baker was an American and French dancer and singer who brought Black American culture to Paris in the 1920s. During World War II, she worked with the French resistance against the Nazi occupation, and later in life, she returned to the United States regularly to participate in the Civil Rights movement.
