Jarl

Jarl is a Scandinavian name of historic importance. Used originally to refer to a rank of nobility, it means “chieftain,” someone who usually ruled a territory in a king’s stead. Sometimes, it could even mean “sovereign prince,” someone with no less power than a king. While this was replaced by dukedom during the Middle Ages, you could bring it back in style by having baby sport Jarl.
