Jaime

Jamie is a gender-neutral name rooted in the biblical Jacob. Formed from the Hebrew root ʿqb, "to follow" or "to circumvent," Jamie earns the meaning "supplanter." It's a translation inspired by the son of Isaac and Rachel, born clutching the heel of his twin brother Esau and thereby supplanting him as the first-born son.
