Jabesh

Jabesh is a masculine name and a variant of the Hebrew Jabez, meaning “borne in pain.” Jabesh also appears in the Hebrew Bible as the father of Shallum of the Kingdom of Israel, who is believed to have gotten his name from an ancient town in Gilead. In turn, this town was known as a rocky region with well-draining soil, giving Jabesh the meaning “dry.” However, rather than viewing these meanings negatively, they can inspire baby to brave all of life’s trials and tribulations and emerge triumphant.
