Ieuan

Ieuan is a boy’s name of Welsh origin and a variant of the Hebrew name John, meaning “God is gracious.” A beautiful blend of vowels, you might find the name Ieuan a little more poetic than its alternatives, Ewan or Iwan. But that's no surprise since it was so popular among lyricists of the past, like Ieuan Gethin and Ieuan ap Hywel Swrdwal, the first Welshman to pen a poem in English. It’s also known for 19th-century poet Ieuan ap Iago, whose verses would form the national anthem of Wales.
