A gender-neutral name, Farnlea is a variant of Fernley, Fearnley, and other similar monikers. Deriving from the Old English elements fearn and lēah, Farnlea means “fern meadow” or “fern clearing.” The fern is a non-flowering plant found in diverse landscapes all over the world.
