Faraj

Faraj is a name for boys with Arabic roots. It translates to “joy after sadness,” and has been historically used to ward off evil spirits in cases where a sibling or parent has passed away. Perhaps the hope and the light imbued in this moniker is the reason why during the Middle Ages, Abu al-Faraj became a title for many Arab and Jewish poets and scholars.
