Debonair is a gender-neutral name inspired by the word, stemming from the Old French debonaire. Today, this smooth appellation comes replete with meanings like “suave,” “refined,” “gentle,” “courteous,” “lighthearted,” and “nonchalant.” However, debonaire originally meant “thoroughbred” in relation to hawks.
